Week 31
It's well known that predicting division 2 US soccer is the hardest thing to do in all of sports. Here goes nothing.
#1
Sometimes good things happen to bad people.
#2
Charleston has nothing left to play for in the regular season. They can’t catch Louisville and Detroit and Tampa won’t catch them. They should take this week off against Pittsburgh and then start getting into post season form against Rhode Island and Loudoun.
#3
Boooo! Week off, Boooooo!
#4
See above.
#5
Without that red card they have another two points and a lock on 3rd place in the East. Still, they were good enough to extend the unbeaten streak to 6, which includes 3 teams above them on this list.
#6
Who doesn’t love a good revenge story. Tampa Bay absolutely beat the piss out of Rhode Island back in March. Not only did Rhode Island return the favor on Saturday, but they also tied Tampa on points. This team is locking in at the right time.
#7
This team on the other hand, is not locking in at the right time. Coming into Saturdays game San Antonio hadn’t scored multiple goals in a game since July 6th. Republic falls down to third in the West with Colorado Springs right on their heels.
#8
Las Vegas Lights are currently sitting at second place in the west. Anyone who says they saw this coming is a god damned liar!
#9
Big win in Hartford keeps the Pegasi in the playoffs, and in control of their own destiny. They’re carrying a lot momentum into a midweek match up with Indy...
#10
Big result in Miami, but that’s light work. Time to bring out the dawgs against Charleston. I’m not nervous, you’re nervous! Shut up!
#11
Is being a fan of this team as frustrating as it seems? Are their fans of this team?
#12
After going unbeaten in 7 Hartford finally falls at home to Loudoun. That feels like a dagger but with 4 games left and a relatively easy schedule these cockroaches are still alive.
#13
They have done the Hounds a great service by knocking off Loudoun, and moved themselves into fourth in the process. Don’t be fooled they’re a horribly disappointing team who will lose in the first round even if they host.
#14
Tampa's plummet continues as they get whooped by Rhode Island. They have now lost 6 straight against teams currently in playoff positions, and hey look they get to go Louisville this week!
#15
#16
Back to back wins for the first time maybe ever. It’s too little too late, but they’re playing decent ball.
#17
3-2 win in Birmingham keeps NCFC in the hunt. This game wasn’t as close as the score would have you believe. They just can’t seem to string good games together.
#18
I’m done trying to figure this team out. I dont think you want to see them in the playoffs, for the same reason you don’t want to pick a fight with a crazy person. I guess what I’m trying to say here is, if Oakland Roots was a person he’d be fucking insane.
#19
They got smacked around by Phoenix and Rhode Island just to turn around and beat Sacramento. They get El Paso tonight and then butchers row to end the season.
#20
Two wins and two draws in their last 4, looks like this cinderella run has some magic left in it. I give a lot of credit to the ownership group, who stood steadfast while the rest of the league called them Pumpkin County. Truly inspiring stuff by me and my fellow owners.
#21
The greatest rivalry in all the USLC is Rising fans vs Risings front office. As a neutral party it’s a real treat to watch. Oh yeah, they’re still in 8th but they seem pretty hellbent on dropping.
#22
Blanked by El Paso is a rough look for a team trying to stay alive. If this team wants to make it they’ll need to figure out how to score now. Like right now, I think they play tonight.
#23
2 goals against Phoenix ends the scoreless streak and the losing streak. It keeps them alive in the playoff race, but with more games played than everyone else in the hunt things look bleak for the crisp and kelp … what a stupid nickname.
#24
I can’t help but notice, that they lost worse to the Hounds than they did to LouCity. Huh, interesting.
